Prior to Meta, as a founding member of Meitu's Global Creative Team, I built the team from inception to its $5 billion IPO (SEHK:1357), blending creative leadership with a deep understanding of product and technology.
At Meitu, I partnered with product and engineering to build an industry-first AR Effect Camera in 2016 and scale the AI-Powered Image and Video Editing App, BeautyPlus, to 125 million monthly active users. My work spanned Creative Direction, Product Design, Generative AI, Augmented Reality, and Creation Tools

In addition to leading the creative innovation of product features, I provided hands-on Art Direction as well as oversaw the creation and launch of hundreds of Camera Effects for the global market, ranging from AI-based AR effects to virtual 'try-on' technologies for hair and makeup.

While designing AR products, I collaborated closely with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to design, develop, and refine several generative AI models from the ground up. I managed complex design challenges, created prototypes, high-quality training datasets & benchmarks, and supported machine learning model evaluations to ensure continuous improvement

MEITU X FACEBOOK AR CAMERA
At Meitu, we built an AR Effect Camera that reached 125 million monthly active users in as early as 2016, even ahead of Facebook, which caught Facebook's attention, In 2017 they approached us with a collaboration opportunity. I led my team in creating and pitching a set of AR experiences for the very first version of Facebook Camera, which positioned Meitu as one of the first beta partners for Facebook AR Studio.

In exchange, Facebook promoted the Meitu App Globally. As a result, we acquired 250 million new users with 20 million monetized Impressions daily.
